A Letter from the Tooth Fairy

As I mentioned in a prior post, Will has been really concerned that the tooth fairy would take his teeth.  We left notes for the tooth fairy on his Elmo Etch-a-Sketch letting her know that Will wants to keep his teeth when he loses them.

The tooth fairy (played by Lovey and Granddad) got his message and sent him a letter in the mail.  Here is a video of Chad reading the letter to Will.

Since the letter, we have not heard any concerns about the tooth fairy keeping his teeth.  I think it did the trick!

Green Beans or Die

 Yesterday was Columbus Day and there was no school, so there were a few more kids at the park than usual.  Will met an 8 year old boy Kyle who he declared his new best friend.  Per Loli, they spent most of the day together playing.  Will came home and told me that he has a new best friend - Kyle (it appears boys can only be best friends, and his old best friend Armando moved to Allen).

Kyle is in second grade.  He can climb big trees and is really strong.  He told Will that he needs to eat green beans or he will die.  This really stuck with Will.  He came home telling me that he needs to eat green beans to stay alive and be strong and climb big trees like Kyle.

On the way to the pumpkin patch, we called Chad to have him pick up some green beans.  I had heard a lot about the green beans or die philosophy so I thought it would be best to have some on hand.

Katie was so into these boards where you can peek through.  She must have played here for half the time.  I don't know that Will ever had any interest in these until today.

Owens Farm

Today was a cold, cold day - in the low 50s with no sun!  We bundled up the kids and headed to Owens Farm to meet the Blanchards and the Broadbents.  It was our first time there, and it was great fun! 

The kids could run around.  Will enjoyed playing "farmer."  He told me "I'll be the farmer.  You be the lady."  The farmer delivered pumpkins and hay to the lady.  He could have done that all day. 

The farm has a train ride, a hayride, and lots of hungry goats to feed.  We did it all, and then ate some hot dogs for lunch before heading home.  What a great day!

Pumpkin Patch

For me, this is the most wonderful time of the year.  I just love the fall and I love the pumpkins!  I so look forward to our trips to the pumpkin patch.  We load up wagons and look for the biggest pumpkin we can find.  The kids run through the pumpkins like it's a maze.  We spend a lot of time picking out the pumpkin we will bring home.  Last night Will and Katie each picked one out.  Will really wanted a big yellow and green one, but I was low on cash.  I think we might get that one if it is there on our next visit.

We found a ladybug!  I think this is the first one Will has ever seen.  Both Will and Katie got to hold it and then Will found a perfect pumpkin to put him on before we left.
