Oahu Trip

We just got back from 4 nights in Oahu.  We had a great time - it was truly relaxing.

We flew over on a direct flight - an 8 hour trip from Dallas to Honolulu.  We had a little champagne to celebrate our 5 night get-away - the most consecutive nights we have been away from Will ever!

We stayed at the JW Marriot at Ko Olina which is about 45 minutes from Waikiki.  We loved our resort, and we felt like we had the place to ourselves.

We spent a day touring the island - visiting any and all LOST filming locations we could find.  Since Chad is such a huge LOST fan, this was the perfect way for him to spend his 40th birthday.  We celebrated for 3 nights straight, enjoying many free desserts.

We really enjoyed the North Shore... probably our favorite part of the island.  It isn't very touristy (I think there is only 1 hotel in this area), but it has a lot of gorgeous beaches and good eats.

Our big recommendation for anyone visiting is to eat at Alan Wongs.  It may be the best meal we have ever had (Fearings would be in the running as well).  Everything we ate here (including the dessert in the picture above) was just amazing.

We were amazed at how many families travel to Hawaii with kids... plural.  As in 4 kids.  We saw multiple sets of infant twins with older siblings, and many families of 3 and 4.  I just kept thinking how hard the flight is for me... how do these families do it traveling with 4 kids!  Amazing... and inspiring.  After seeing these families, I feel very confident that we can take 1 baby to San Diego in July!

Big thank you to Granddad, Aunt Leen and Uncle Chuck, and Ahma and Bapa for making this get-away trip possible.  We loved knowing that he was having the best time here at home while we were away - sleeping in and just doing whatever we wanted for a few days.  Thank you!
