Friday Swiming + Dell Children's

 We also visited one of the amazing Steiner Ranch pools while we were in Austin.  This one was great - so many neat featured that I didn't photograph including buckets that fill up with water and pour on your head!

Our visit was cut a little short when Will got out of the pool crying complaining his stomach hurt.  This was odd seeing as how the only time Will cries at the pool is when we need to go home.  He was pretty inconsolable.  I tried to give him food, but he kept saying he hurt.  I asked if he wanted to leave and he said yes.  All of this is really strange for Will.  On the way to the car I asked him where it hurt and he pointed to his right side - near his appendix.  He said it hurt to touch.

So, we called Dr Granddad who said it was best to get him checked out.  So we headed to Dell Children's for a few hours.  His pain subsided, so it wasn't his appendix but likely his first experience with a stomach cramp. 

Will loved the hospital - he even said "I just love this hospital - it has the best fish tanks."  We left with some gloves and masks for him and Katie, so in Will's eyes it was a great trip!

Austin Pool Time

 We stayed with Ahma and Bapa while we were in Austin and really had a great time with them!  They belong to the UT Golf club which recently opened a new pool.  The pool was huge and the kids had a blast.

4th of July

We had a great time at the neighborhood parade and festivities on the 4th of July!  The parade was great - it was old school with decorated bikes and trailers decked out with streamers.  It reminded me of our neighborhood parade that we went to when I was growing up.

The part that was completely different was the other festivities!  The fire house has all the trunks out so the kids could climb in them, and they (for the first time we have seen) had a fireman who would help the kids hold a fire hose and spray the windows - making them flips around - in this pretend little house.

They also had horses, snacks, bounce houses, and a petting zoo.  This might be the most fun we have ever had a petting zoo.  Will happily wrangled the animals - bunnies, chicks, goats, a potbelly pig!, a lama, ducks, and a lamb.  He held his favorite bunny (feeding him one pellet at a time) over and over.  We talk about when we will see that bunny again and Will is convinced that bunny will be so happy to see him.  He was the fluffiest bunny I have ever seen!

We left the fun a little early to head down to Austin for the long weekend!

Sunday at the Pool

We spent Sunday before the 4th of July holiday with my friend Mindee and her two kids, Sophia and Karolina.  They have an awesome pool and the kids just loved it! 

Will did his first underwater flip while we were in the pool!  I had helped him do one in the past, but now he does them on his own.  Both of these kids are water babies, and I remember when they first got in the pool when they were babies and hated it - I was so worried they would be scared of the water.  Well, rest assured, that fear did not come to fruition!
